The quantum slipstream drive is an advanced form of propulsion technology, first encountered by the USS Voyager in the Delta Quadrant, which has the capability of exceeding a starship's maximum warp factor by an unprecedented degree. Similar in principle to the transwarp technology utilized by the Borg, it was originally developed by a Delta Quadrant race designated by the Borg as "Species 116" before being backwards-engineered by the brilliant minds of Starfleet's Corps of Engineers. | |

Graviton Catapult

A graviton catapult is a type of technology that propeled spacecraft across space. The power core of the catapult generats a massive graviton surge that locks onto a ship through an array of projectors. The surge sends the ship hurtling into null space for a number of hours. Upon emerging back to normal space, the vessel will have jumped many hundreds or even thousands of light years. The distance is determined by the graviton field strength. | |

The Iota System

The Iota System is located in the Delta Quadrant, near the location of the original graviton catapult encountered by the Starship Voyager that founded the basis for Starfleet's own devices.
