Chief's Log, Stardate: - Unrecorded - Post Highlander assignment.

"Where to start...

So. Its gone. The Endeavour is Gone... Finite. That great majestic ship torn to shreds, and even its rubble will get ripped apart by gravity wells, solar winds and other forces. And for what?

What for?

What did that great ship die doing?

A rescue mission, for a Captain that died less than an hour later, and half of an engineer."

Ethan paused, looking down at his legs. Rather than the limbs he had been born with, in place were two, sleek, cybernetic limbs. They were not the dark steel Borg alloy, and mercifully, the green shine to them was gone - he wore pants over them, unable to look at them for too long. He wasn't a vain man. He could cope with mutilation, as mad as it sounded. It was the constant reminder. Five men. And a whole Ship. Gone to rescue half a man.

"I checked by sickbay again today... They were finally convinced that I needed to be cleared for duty as soon as possible. If I had to spend another day in that blasted place, I think I would have snapped.

The Highlander's Engineering deck is smaller than the Endeavour - which is unsurprising. It still packs a hell of a lot of tech. But it feels cold. She doesn't sing to me the way the Endeavour did. There is no heartbeat... No rhythm... Just stats and numbers."

Kessel hesitated for a moment.

"The Borg did something to be... Something that can't be undone, and I ain't talking about my missing legs... I see everything in numbers... stats... Analysis... Facts and figures. They took something more than my legs when they made me Scorpius..."

He became quiet for a moment.

"And I hate them for it." He whispered.

After a while, he sat up slowly.

"Computer. Delete Recording. Purge memory banks."
