| Personal History | Kessel was born on Titan, one of Saturn's Moons, so is no stranger to space travel. he was raised solely by his father, as despite medical advances, his mother died in childbirth. His childhood was fairly uneventful - he went to school, and studied hard there, and joining Starfleet. | |
| Education | Kessel studied Physics at New-Oxford highschool, before studying At Starfleet academy, taking advantage of their science scholarship. He past engineering and science Exams almost flawlessly, but he did not do so well in Command based scenarios, due to his lack of ability in delegating responsibly to his subordinates, and due to an uncertainty he develops when in a position of power. |
Career History
| Starfleet Academy | During his Time at Star Fleet Academy, he established himself as a skilled engineer, and as a Competent Officer in his own right, however, he distanced himself away from situations when he had to give out orders, preferring to rely on himself, and his own skill and intellect, rather than on those he knew nothing about. While at Starfleet, he made friends, found love, lost it, the usual story of any University aged Student. Having turned his sights on the study of Trans-Monocular theory and Nuclear Synthesis, experimenting on Synthesisers and transports, and got into trouble for hacking the Academies replicators to unleash artic quantites of ice when instructed to produce ice cubes. He also singlehandedly spiked the entire campus's drinks at once by increasing the alcohol content of every drink by 30%. Such antics however, were a minority. For the most part, he spent his university life studying the works of famous Nuclear Physicists, and published research on the relationship between Centuries old Alchemy and the Particle Physics experiments of the modern world, accepting how this would later be seen as rudimentry and uninspired work in the far future. Although hardly world renowned, he became a local authority amoung his fellow students, and enjoyed life as a well liked, well respected Engineer, who many anticipated would achieve great things in a Starfleet Laboratory, on a Space Facility, studying the mysteries of the building blocks of Space and Time, building the next generation of Starships and technologies. It was therfore a great surprise when he announced his intention to fully graduate as an officer and serve aboard a USS Starship, in order to allow his skills directly contribute Star Fleet. Although devastated that his finest student would rather spend time "Zooming around the Galaxy" then continue to study "Real Science", his Lecturer and Mentor, Professor Albert Rubedo used his influence to ensure that Ethan would eventually be posted on a ship that he considered deserving of his prodigies’ talent - The USS Endeavour. Which came to pass upon his graduation. |

| Early Career | Ethen arrived upon the Endeavour with a new batch of crewmen onboard the USS Antartic, filling the much needed role as "Energy/Matter Specialist"on the Soverign class ship. He formed a close friendship with Kalin Jerome, his medical counterpart, and took to his work immediately. For more details, See below. |

| USS Endeavour | Newly Transferred to the USS Endeavour, Fresh out of the Academy, his expertise were first tiled upon the discovery of Deep Space 19, where he successfully reverse engineered the Power Core of the derelict Station, earning hiim recognition and praise. Later he lead a group of engineers until gradually most systems became online. When he left the station, he "Accidently" brought with him a copy of the Skematics of the Thermo-Fusion Cannons, the devastating weapons the Station was armed with, which pierced Shields as if they were butter. Although he deactivated them, the weapons were the sole mystery of the stations ancient, yet advanced tech, and in a blatant breach of protocol, took the unsanctioned mission to restore the weapons - though as of yet, he has had no success. His time aboard the station earned him the title "Chief Engineer" onbord the Vessel, and Kessel faced other challanges such as the machinations of T'Marl, and the Gorn-Klingon Cold war. But in the following months, Kessel faced the worst trial of his career, in the form of the Space Station: Hyperion, and its subsequent capture and destruction assimilation of the Advanced "Open Core Power Unit", by the Borg Remnant. Unable to allow such material to into the hands of the Borg - who would doubtlessly use it rise again as the dominate power in the Delta Quadrant, Kessel took part in a mission to destroy the Ship from inside out. Although the mission was successful, Kessel was mortally wounded by the insane Cheif Scientist, desperate to save his work, and would have died there and then, were it not for the lifesaving, assimilation of the Borg. Extracting the knowledge from his mind, the Borg aborted the overload of the Open Core source, and proceeded to assimilate both Kessel and Captain Bryne. Kessel was then tortured, and assimilate into the new Borg Leader. Scorpius of Borg. Borg Controller, and now dominate ruler of the remaining Borg. He proceeded to command a vicious attack on the Endeavour, crippling its systems, before being "Rescued" by the crew of the Endeavour. Rendered unconscious, he was unaware of the following battle with T'Marl, and when he awoke from his coma, was informed that the Endeavour and Captain were both gone, blasted apart in the void of space. |

| USS Highlander | Injured, and maimed by his time as Scorpius, Ethan began his career on the Highlander a shadow of his former self, his skin scarred by removed external implants, and his organs and skeleton still covered with the now inactive implants. Haunted by the destruction of the Endeavour, he is introverted, self contained and solitary. Only time will tell if he is ready to return to his former self. |
