Same Old Arguement

Posted on Sat Aug 2nd, 2014 @ 6:46pm by Counselor Melony Taylor

Melony was pacing back and forth in her room, unable to contain her frustration it had spilled over in to momentum. She had been thrilled after receiving a message from her sister and curious as to what she could have to say, after listening to it however she was livid, more so when she had tried to calm down and realised she had known she would react like this and deliberately left her a message instead of taking advantage of talking to her whilst she was still within range.

Scarlett it seemed was upset with her again, bring in up the age old argument that had been having since she joined Starfleet, in the way only her sister could do she had “reminded” her that she could still help people even without leaving the planet, that their mother would be thrilled to have her back at the hospital helping out like she used to. Melony was tempted to call her up and have a screaming match, simply to vent some of the frustration she had over this same old topic being brought up again.

She couldn’t do that, instead she took a deep breath she knew talking to Scarlett about it wouldn’t help, and she stilled her pacing. She needed to be active but not wear a hole in the floor of her room; she smirked heartlessly looking around the room, she supposed there was enough space for most of the basic karate kata, and it would do for now until she set up a holodeck program to train with.

She centred herself, started the first of the fifteen original kata Heian Shodan, she would continue and go through them all until she could think straight no matter how long it took, the movements were almost automatic by now but her frustration was distracting her and throwing her form off, she needed to concentrate to keep her mind clear. She had lost track of how many times she had gone through them when she felt her mind clearing and continued until she was exhausted, only getting a quick shower before going and collapsing on her bed.

Tomorrow she would answer her sister, ignore her bitter comment and tell her how much the colonists were progressing, feeling more and more confident that they would be able to cope with the situation they would be faced with, she would focus on the positive she told herself, and maybe she should call Dominic and tell him she already missed having a sparing partner she thought before drifting off to sleep.
