It had taken three months to convince the chef on board to let her in to the kitchen, three months but now she had the choice of coming in and helping out when she had the time. Though she was convinced it was only because he was curious as to what she put in to some of her dishes, she might tell him, in three months or so.

Currently she was zoned out cutting up vegetables for her twist on Chanpurū (チャンプルー) A stir-fry from Okinawa, that typically involved vegetables, tofu, meat or seafood and sometimes egg, but every chef tended to put a different twist to it, she was currently doing one her dad had taught her, instead of her own.

Melony hadn't really ever tried to copy his recipe before, though she had helped hundreds of times to prepare that exact meal, so knew it like the back of her own hand. However when she was done although the chef on board seemed to enjoy the meal, it was missing something though she couldn't pinpoint it. She pushed her meal out of the way and let her head hit the table hard, how could she of forgotten something.

The Chef sighed and said something about them both needing a drink and went to go get something to go with the meal, causing Melony to start laughing. Of course nothing else went with this, and it was why she thought something was missing so badly it was, it changed the whole meal.

"Hey Chef do you have any sweet sake, I think we could both use a glass"

He came back to the table with a bottle and two glasses poured which she drank before returning to her meal, smiling as the sweet taste from the sake never quite disappeared and seemed to complement the entire dish, now this tasted like she remembered.
