Little Annoyances

Posted on Sun Sep 20th, 2015 @ 7:06pm by Lieutenant Commander Ciaran McIntyre & Doctor Rikka Takanashi M.D.

Episode: Lost Property
Location: Main Bridge [Deck 1, USS Highlander]
Timeline: MD01: 1240hrs.

Rikka wanted to see how long it took the Commander to notice her presence at his station. Her blue eyes and purple hair was peeping just over the edge of his console watching him closely, her eyes following his every move nice and closely.
"How much..." she whispered to him still remaining half hidden.

McIntyre did his best to ignore the doctor and keep her in his peripheral vision, at least that way he didn't have to deal with her directly. This was the third time she'd uttered that opener, 'How much...' and it was beginning to wear on him. "How much what?" He eventually turned round to face her.

"He he" Rikka said with a grin. "How much did you drink last night?" she asked beaming at him.

McIntyre glowered over the console, half out of irritation and half trying to remember. He definitely remembered the bottle coming out and the claims that 'this was the the good stuff' but aside from that, everything was a bit of a haze. "I'm not one hundred percent certain, Doctor."

Rikka just smiled. "Well from a distance it's not noticeable, but close up...." Rikka said. "You can clearly see that you had way too much last night" she said as she jumped down, then walked around the side of the Operations console to join him in the booth. "Infact, from the dilation in your pupils, your blood alcohol level is still high..." she explained.

"Well, thanks for that Doc but I feel fine." McIntyre wasn't sure if he was receiving a reprimand from the ship's physician or simply acting as her guinea pig. "It was just a case of a couple too many." He said flatly, trying to deflect her.

"Uh huh" Rikka said as she was flicking open her medical kit which was now resting on top of his console. "Of course you feel fine, I mean the console lights are really that bright aren't they? Do they usually cause you to squint or hurt your eyes so often? If so we should probably look into that" she explained whilst preparing a hypospray. "Or, I could just give you this and you will feel perfectly fine, choice is yours..."

McIntyre took a moment to consider his alcohol-fuelled martyrdom. Suddenly it didn't seem worth it. "Sure, give me the hypo."

Rikka smiled as she injected him. She then let out a little giggle before placing a hand on the commanders chest. With a smile she pulled him down close so they were face to face. Her expression suddenly changed from playful to very serious.
"Next time. I won't give you anything. In fact, I'll make it worse" she whispered.

"I probably deserve that." He mused as he heard the hiss of the hypospray and suddenly felt a hundred times better.

Rikka nodded with a smile "uh huh" she murmered. "Well, I'll be going now. You get plenty of sleep tonight, early night. Or else I'll have to come round and tuck you in... I don't think you want that" she ended up whispering to him.

McIntyre raised an eyebrow. He wasn't sure he did either.
