Settling

Posted on Tue Feb 18th, 2014 @ 6:28pm by Commander Gaius Ra-Xialii

Episode: Orphans
Location: XO's Quarters, Various
Timeline: MD08, 0730Hours

Gaius awoke to the sun in his eyes, he winced and rolled over to push his face into the pillow. Even with the blinds shut, the sun still managed to target him through the cracks. Gaius had a small issue with going to sleep after being woken. Letting out a sigh, he got up.

"I was done sleeping anyway," He said, not letting the sun win this battle. He grabbed the blinds and allowed them to slide away, revealing the sunlight and the terrain around them. He would miss this, not matter what he said.

Tying his hair back, Gaius dropped to the floor, proceeding to complete his daily routine of 50 pushups and sit ups, as well as 10 pullups on his installed bar.

Stretching properly, he then showered, and put on a fresh uniform. Different but still within regulations Gaius put on his field boots, ones coming up to above his ankle, and then bloused his pants over them. This was more comfortable to him, more in line with his practical nature.

Giving his quarters a small tidy up, Gaius straightened a few momentos he had up on display, Academy pictures, promotion certificates, his Uushan-tor hung on a wall alongside a newly aquired Mek'leth he had bought on Cestus III. He was glad to have settled in to the quarters. Smaller than those on the Endeavour, these had a more comfortable and cosy feel. Finishing up he decided on his next move.

On most days Ra-Xialli would start the day with a cup of coffee, whilst looking over paperwork the Captain had so graciously given for him to do. Little did Gaius know at the time that the paperwork was so tedious and large in quantity. The smirked at the neat pile of PADDs on the table, and made a mental note to get a Yeoman to deliver these to the Captain.

"Mess hall today," He said to himself, before marching for the door, "I really have to stop talking to myself."
