Trauma

Post Count: 13

As the USS Endeavour crew are returned to Cestus III, they are mandated to take medical leave from their standard duties, and report for counselling and assessment to ensure they are fit for duty after such a devastating loss.

Orphans

Post Count: 167

Three months after the destruction of the USS Endeavour, her crew has been seeing counsellors on an almost constant basis on Cestus III to help them come to terms with the emotions resulting from their final mission with their former captain. However, Starfleet cannot keep the crew there indefinitely, and with clearance for duty from Starfleet medical granted to the crew, they are up for reassignment.

On the advice of the counselling team which has been working with the crew, Starfleet has decided to keep as many of the crewmates together as possible, excepting those who requested transfer elsewhere. With the USS Highlander on the surface of Cestus and in need of crew, Captain Williams is ordered to take on the orphans of the Endeavour, and after a short time to allow the change in circumstances to bed in, the ship takes on its first mission for the 11th Fleet.

Lost Property

Post Count: 186

Six months after the mission to Dreyas IV, the USS Highlander is patrolling near the Federation-Klingon border, and as Lieutenant McIntyre begins his command training to make him able to take on the second officer position properly, ship's sensors detect an object near the edge of the Lembatta Nebula, a stellar nursery on the Federation side of the border that has frequently been difficult to scan the depths of from outside due to the interference from the many forming baby stars within. Diverting course to investigate, the crew find an unusual piece of lost property - an NX-class starship, over 200 years old.

The ship turns out to be the DeSalle NX-10, a ship listed as being destroyed at the end of the Earth-Romulan War on the outskirts of the Rigel system - a victim of a cloaked Romulan mine field. With so few NX-class ships being built by the Earth Starfleet of that time, and with even less of them surviving humanity's first conflict with the Romulans, Starfleet is eager for the Highlander crew to restore and preserve the ship, and bring it to Cestus III to be turned into a museum of early human exploration. However, as the engineering teams begin beaming over, they discover an odd cellular residue along all of the aft walls of the ship, and to add to the creepiness, as they begin to power up some of the systems with portable generators, the computers begin doing strange things - almost as if someone else was attempting to use the controls.

While they are still working on the DeSalle, the Gorn and their new alliance begin an attack on Klingon border worlds, quickly defeating the outmatched Klingon forces at M'Char, B'rel and Q'tahl. Most Klingon vessels fight to the death, but a number manage to leave the battles with heavy casualties. The Highlander is ordered to provide assistance, and splits its crew - leaving much of the engineering staff behind on the DeSalle whilst the rest of the crew heads off towards Klingon space.

Preparations

Post Count: 32
Story Arc: Between Operations

The USS Highlander has been re-assigned to the newly-formed Task Force 37, and will be making use of Starfleet's new graviton catapult to travel to the Delta Quadrant, where the ship and her crew will assist Starfleet in exploring this quadrant; following up on the work begun by the Starship Voyager in that ship's original journey through the quadrant.

However such a massive undertaking requires significant preparation. Supplies must be taken onboard, over and above those requisitioned for standard missions closer to home. Systems need to be upgraded and in some cases modified to ensure that the ship can be relied upon for the long period of time the ship will likely spend away from any starbase facilities. These preparations are being led by the Highlander's newly promoted second officer, Lt. Commander Reynolds.

Fishing Expedition

Post Count: 33
Story Arc: Between Operations

Lieutenant North leads a small team in the Delta Flyer USS Okuda to an oceanic planet where Starfleet has set up a joint research station with the native inhabitants. Whilst their mission is on the face of it a simple one - to assist the research being conducted into the planet's ocean - not everything goes to plan.

Conference on Berengaria

Post Count: 8
Story Arc: Between Operations

Captain Williams and Counsellor Taylor both head to a Starfleet Conference on Berengaria VII. The Captain has finally ran out of excuses to put off attending another conference, but is determined to only attend the 'interesting' talks whilst he is there. Fortunately for him, the conference will become more than interesting enough when the two officers discover just what has begun infiltrating the remote Federation member world.
