Highlander

Some News

Hey everyone

First off, I apologise for being quiet this month. There's been a fair bit going on in RL, which hasn't left me much room for writing. With the exception of Christmas coming up, that should all be done with by now, and as some of you may already know, I have also recently resigned from my post as Chief of Fleet Operations for Pegasus Fleet, which should mean that I have more time to put towards the Highlander. Hopefully over the next couple of months you should start to see a lot more of me around the site, and things can start moving at a quicker pace than they have been up until now.

Speaking of resignations, our first officer, Lt. Commander Hawke, played by Mike, has decided to resign from his sims across the fleet, so that he can focus on his life in the real world. RL must always come first, and although I'm saddened to see such a great writer leave us, I wish him every bit of luck in RL, and I hope to see him again around here some day. Until the end of this mission, much like Lt. Cdr. McIntyre, I'll be NPCing Hawke's character so that we can keep up the continuity of the storyline.

Another small change which I will be making in the next couple of days is the creation of a new 'mission' on the site, purely for the purpose of backposts. No doubt you will have seen a number coming from me detailing some of Tim's adventures on the holodeck before we discovered the DeSalle. To be honest, they started off as a way of me boosting our posting numbers without derailing or unduly rushing our main plot posts too much, but I think that they could actually be a good creative outlet for all of us to be able to write about things that our characters have done outside of whatever the current mission might be. I'll be setting that new 'mission' up on the site to contain all of those stories, so that they can be kept separate of our main plots. Feel free to start writing your own backpost plots if you ever come up with anything, or are just in need of something to write about.

Now, obviously we're moving into December imminently, which means that as we get closer to Christmas, I know people are going to start taking some more time away from their computers to be with friends and family - which is of course what the holiday season is all about. I would still like to try and push ahead with our main plot though, so any time you can put towards getting posts done here would be greatly appreciated. If anybody knows that they are going to be away for set periods of time, please let me know so that we can mark you as on LOA for that time period.
