Our security chief, Mike (playing LCdr McIntyre) has due to the bane that is real life taken the decision to retire from all sims he is currently on so that he can focus on other things. We all know that RL can get in the way sometimes, so I wish him luck and hopefully he'll be able to stay in touch while he pursues what he wants to pursue.

That does leave us with the question of what to do with a fairly major character on the sim mid-mission. I've gotten permission from Mike to NPC him for now, and we'll have him transfer away for another assignment at the end of the mission. If we get anyone wanting to apply for the security post in the meantime, then I'll have them come onboard as the assistant chief in the interim, and then be promoted after Mac leaves the ship. If any of you know anyone who might be interested, send them the way of the join form and we can see about getting them involved.
