Happy New Year!

Hello everyone, and welcome to a new year! I hope you all had some good festive celebrations over the past couple of weeks, and that you're all ready and rearing to go for January.
Now, I know that for the past few months we have been faltering slightly, and I take on my fair share of the responsibility for that. However I am hoping that with 2015 we can put that behind us and push ahead with renewed vigour. There are some of you who haven't posted in a while, and I haven't taken too hard a line on you because I know that I haven't been the best example to follow, but we all need to be working together if we're going to get our posting levels back up to standards - otherwise we'll have the brass of the fleet onto us and we'll be under the microscope.
We do have a few updates that I need to make you all aware of which took place towards the end of last year but which I didn't feel the need to put news items out for at the time. Both our doctor and our science officer have resigned from the sim, as they didn't feel as if they would be able to maintain activity here, and so they took the decision to step down. I have an NPC in place already as one of the ship's medical officers which I have used on the sim before, so any medical posts will be picked up by me. Anything that would normally be picked up by science will be split between Ops, Engineering or Medical - whichever is the more appropriate department for whatever the situation is. That should enable us to cover it off until we get a replacement in.
If you know anybody who might be a good fit for us to fill either of these positions - or indeed the helm position, which has been vacant since Hawke was moved up to XO - then please send them our way. I'm not going to do a major recruitment drive until we're approaching the end of this mission, but that doesn't mean that I won't accept applicants before then.
Anywho; I'll be sticking up some more posts soon to try and move us along more and get us powering through this plot; I'd like to encourage all of you to get at least one solo post out (or a joint post with one of your fellow crewmates) showing how you're dealing with the current situation or what is going on around you. I'll be doing the same, in addition to the posts that I'll be starting. Don't feel shy about starting up any new posts yourselves, either!
So here's to a productive and hopefully more active year in 2015! Onwards and upwards!
